Disney has proven that its new streaming service, Disney+, will be a force to be reckoned with in the streaming wars upon its launch on November 12. The media giant has tweeted a long thread of all the upcoming content set to be released on the platform, which includes its massive backlog of films and TV shows through the ages.

The streaming services is set to have 500 movies and 7500 episodes available for subscribers on its new platform, with 300 film titles available from the date of launch. In the first year, 200 more will be added, 100 of which will be recent releases.

The new platform will contain content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. The company has indicated they will revive old Fox franchises to bring back nostalgia for fans, and there are plans to reboot Home Alone.

Disney Plus will be a streaming hub for all theatrical releases in 2019 and beyond, with Captain Marvel being available from day one. Furthermore, Avengers: Endgame will come to the platform from December 11, and there will be other recent favourites on offer such as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Lion King, Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2.

New original series were revealed at the biennial fan convention D23 Expo. These are Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian, a Lizzie McGuire reboot, Marvel shows based on Ms Marvel, She-Hulk and Moon Knight, plus an Obi-Wan Kenobi series featuring Ewan McGregor in a return to his role.
