News recently circulated that Ruby Rose had left Batwoman ahead of season 2, with rumours circulating about who would be her replacement.
Now it turns out a new character will be introduced as Batwoman, instead of finding a replacement for Rose as Kate Kane.
A leaked casting call came out which said they were looking for a character named Ryan Wilder. Interestingly, after the point about her appearance was the sentence ‘Ryan Wilder is about to become Batwoman’.
In other words, the news is looking like Kate Kane will not be recast, with Ryan Wilder revealed as a new character who is ‘likeable, messy, a little goofy and untamed’.
