The latest title to arrive on streaming platform Amazon Prime Video is Greenland, a movie which would have been in theaters from September 25 but is now available on the streamer for purchase.
Greenland has a premise whereby scientists find out a comet will hit Earth imminently, leading to humanity being wiped out. By taking shelter in bunkers in Greenland, viewers watch as one family does their best to fight for survival.

What is the midnight sun?
The midnight sun takes place during the summer months in locations north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle. As the name suggests, it involves the sun being visible from the sky at midnight. The sun doesn’t set below the horizon in a 24 hour time frame during the summer solstice – 21 June in the Northern Hemisphere, and December 23 down in the Southern Hemisphere.

Commonly referred to as the Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis is a natural light display which takes place due to solar winds causing disturbances in the magnetosphere, resulting in auroras.

Also known as the Greenland Ice Sheet or Inland Ice, this is a single ice cap which covers around 80 percent of Greenland. It is the largest mass of ice in the Northern Hemisphere, and only the Antarctic ice mass is bigger.
Why is Greenland shark meat toxic?
It isn’t a good idea to eat sharks which swim in the waters around Greenland, as their flesh is poisonous. Why? The creatures contain a large amount of TMAO – or trimethylamine oxide. While sharks benefit from a regulation in their osmotic pressure, the digested version of this chemical – TMA – can cause intestinal problems, a ‘drunken’ effect and even convulsions or death if too much is consumed.
What continent is Greenland a part of?
Technically, Greenland is part of the continent of North America. However, it is an autonomous country which falls within the Kingdom of Denmark. It is generally associated with Europe, and Denmark gave Greenland Home Rule in 1979. In 2009, Greenland assumed more decision making powers and responsibilities.
