Popular Netflix Christmas film The Princess Switch is now releasing a sequel, and it has recently been announced that Vanessa Hudgens will be returning. Furthermore, she will be playing a total of three parts in the movie, as well as taking on a producer role.
The original film saw Stacy, a baker from Chicago, travel to the fictional nation of Belgravia as part of a competition. While there, she met her lookalike, who also happened to be Margaret, Duchess of Montenaro. After they switch places, they find themselves falling for the men in each others’ lives.
Netflix has hinted that the sequel will involve trouble on the horizon for Duchess Margaret and Stacy’s friend Kevin. The Duchess will find herself unexpectedly inheriting the throne and going through a rough patch with Kevin. This leaves Stacy as the one who must save the day before a third lookalike – a party girl named Fiona – destroys their plans.
This movie is just the latest Christmas film Hudgens has signed up for, as she is also set to star in The Knight Before Christmas. The premise of this film is that a kind science teacher who has become disillusioned by love meets a cursed medieval knight who she must assist in returning to his own era.
