Orlando Bloom has signed a deal with Amazon Prime Video to develop film and TV projects, according to reports. Bloom is currently starring in Carnival Row on the streaming service alongside Cara Delevingne. The series was renewed for a second season before its premiere.
The original script comes from Travis Beacham, who is leaving the production. Erik Oleson – known for his work on Daredevil – will be taking on the showrunner role as replacement for Marc Guggenheim.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, has described Bloom as ‘a fantastic creative talent and collaborative partner for all of us.’
The deal will see Bloom working with Amazon Studios to create TV and film projects that will make their debuts exclusively on Amazon Prime Video across more than 200 countries and territories globally.
Bloom said: ‘I have thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Jen Salke and the team at Amazon and I look forward to growing that relationship with this new and exciting production deal.’
The actor has recently wrapped up production on Needle in a Timestack and The Outpost. Meanwhile, Amazon is working on a TV spinoff for Lord of the Rings, and an order for two seasons has already been confirmed.
