Along with several other exciting content announcements, HBO Max has now revealed there will be an animated Aquaman show on its upcoming streaming service.
The series will have three parts and is titled Aquaman: King of Atlantis. The premise is following the titular characters’ first day as King. Vulko and Mera, Aquaman’s sidekicks, will also feature in the Warner Bros Animation series.
A synopsis was given by HBO Max at the WarnerMedia Television Critics Association day: ‘Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman is going to have to rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects, and to himself, that he’s the right man for the trident.’
Other animated content coming to HBO Max includes Little Ellen, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Adventure Time: Distant Lands, Rick and Morty, Looney Tunes and Jellystone.
HBO Max launches in May for $15 a month. It will feature top series such as Friends, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Sex and the City, Big Bang Theory, a Gossip Girl sequel, Sesame Street, Veep and The Sopranos.
