HBO Max has welcomed the rapper Coolio to the cast of its drama pilot Vegas High. The singer is playing a Las Vegas businessman called Ray.
If the pilot is a success, the Grammy award winning artist will perform a recurring role as the uncle to Kyanna Simpson’s character Olive.
The story of Vegas High focuses on a girl who is split between the worlds of her Mormon faith and the Vegas lifestyle.
Other stars in the show include Jordana Spiro, Andres Rievera, Reagan Rozas, Emma Meisel, Lexi Simonsen and Kevin Rahm.
It’s written by Sarah-Raquel Jimenez and directed by Gillian Robespierre. Meanwhile, Coolio has appeared in some movies previously in cameo or minor roles.
