Amazon Prime Video has experienced its best year since launching, with subscriber numbers up 35% in its fourth quarter.
The figures also reveal that the platform is beating Netflix in terms of growth, and this result has been helped by the partnership with the Premier League for live streaming.
Other factors which helped it grow were Jack Ryan returning for a new series, The Grand Tour coming back and The Marvellous Mrs Maisel having new episodes.
In total, Amazon gained 1.86 million new subscribers to its Prime Video service in 2019. This is the most since the service launched in 2014.
Netflix still leads the way with 12.35 million homes signing up, but the growth was only 20% in comparison.*
