There has been some confusion for a while now about the difference between HBO, HBO Go, HBO Now and HBO Max.
The good news is that these names are going to receive an overhaul from July. Most notably, HBO Go will no longer exist as of July 31.
Don’t worry, as if you have HBO Go via your cable provider, you will be prompted to sign into HBO Max before this date so you can access the new streaming service.
Meanwhile, HBO Now is being renamed as simply HBO. While all the movies and shows will remain on the app, the original content from HBO is to be found on HBO Max.
In other words, the only two names which will exist after July are HBO and HBO Max. Get your classic HBO fix with HBO, and enjoy original content with HBO Max.
