Beyoncé’s new visual album, Black Is King, is set to be released on Disney Plus. It follows her previous visual album Lemonade, as well as her The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack album for Disney’s 2019 live action remake of The Lion King.
A star studded trailer for the album hit YouTube yesterday – narrated by Beyoncé, the trailer features, among others, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Rowland and JAY-Z. The visual album will also include appearances from Lupita Nyong’o, Pharell Williams and more.
The visual album is inspired by The Lion King (2019) and The Gift. It will be released almost one year after the film hit theaters. In a statement on the album, Disney said: “The film reimagines the lessons from the 2019 blockbuster for today’s young kings and queens in search of their own crowns.”
Black Is King is set to arrive on Disney Plus on July 31st. To stream it, you’ll have to make a Disney Plus account, as unfortunately there’s no free trial. You can however grab a bundle deal with Hulu, giving you access to even more hit TV shows and blockbuster movies. Check out our guide to everything arriving to Hulu in August here.
