Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a deal with Netflix to produce exclusive content for the streamer.
The couple will reportedly be involved with a variety of projects, including documentaries, scripted series, features, children’s content and docu-series.
In a statement, the couple said: ‘Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us’. They also added that, ‘we are pleased to work with Ted [Sarandos] and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action’.
Sarandos, chief content officer and co-chief executive at Netflix, commented: ‘We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere’.
Meghan Markle’s most famous onscreen work is perhaps her role as Rachel Zane in Suits. She also recently narrated the documentary Elephants, which streams on Disney Plus.
It’s said that the couple may make onscreen appearances in their Netflix content, though Markle reportedly does not intend to resume her acting career.
Though we don’t yet know when the couple’s content will be hitting Netflix, for now you can check out Elephants with a Disney Plus subscription – and all 9 seasons of Suits on Amazon Prime Video with a 30 day free trial.
