Apple TV+ is adding to its slate of original content by launching a new comedy series called Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet in February 2020. The show comes from Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day, who were behind the classic It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
There will be nine episodes of the series available when it makes its debut, all of which will be 30 minutes in duration. The show centers on the MMORPG Mythic Quest, which is a premise familiar in other video game themed comedies. For example, Silicon Valley from HBO had characters who worked in game development, and Russian Doll from Netflix features a character lead who is a game developer too.
The premise revolves around the game’s first major expansion, with the series focusing on how a team of video game developers explore the challenging role of running a popular video game title. McElhenney will also be in the show, playing the part of the company’s creative director.
The new series has been produced by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment and Ubisoft. The cast includes F. Murray Abraham, Danny Pudi, Imani Hakim, Charlotte Nicdao, David Hornsby, Ashly Burch and Jessie Ennis.
