Lizzie McGuire fans have been stoked for weeks since finding out that the classic TV series is getting a reboot on Disney Plus.
We have already learnt that Lizzie’s on-screen family will be making a comeback, with her parents and little brother reprising their roles as the McGuires.
However, many fans were left questioning whether Lizzie’s best friends, Gordo and Miranda, would also be coming back to the show.
Now half of that question has been answered, as Hilary Duff made a special announcement on the Disney+ social media channels which revealed Adam Lamberg would be returning as David ‘Gordo’ Gordon for the new series.
Duff, executive producer and star of the series, said: ‘Gordo was an essential piece of the puzzle to what made the original ‘Lizzie McGuire’ so authentic and beloved.
‘I couldn’t imagine the series without him. I can’t wait for fans to see what he’s up to 15 years later and how he fits into Lizzie’s adult world.’
The new Lizzie McGuire series begins with Lizzie about to turn 30, living in New York with her dream job and the perfect Brooklyn apartment. However, she is soon navigating the unpredictable rollercoaster of adulthood with both old and new friends.
