Elon Musk has confirmed that there will be Disney Plus streaming available soon for Tesla vehicles. In September, Tesla announced a new update which involved the provision of entertainment functionality for the electric vehicles. Notably, the Tesla Theater allows vehicle users to stream video from inside the cars.
The initial launch provided users with the ability to stream Netflix, Hulu, Twitch and YouTube. However it looks like Musk is working on adding popular new streaming service Disney Plus to the list after a Twitter encounter.
The Tesla Owners of Massachusetts asked the CEO if the function would be added to the Theater in a future update, as ‘a lot of users would love to have this function’. Musk replied ‘coming soon’.
Disney Plus launched to US customers on November 12, and amassed over 10 million subscribers in its first day alone. It has since expanded to Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico, with UK and European regions receiving the service from the end of March 2020.
The service offers films and TV series from Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Television, Disney’s Marvel, National Geographic, Pixar and Star Wars, as well as new original content. Notably, the streamer poached over a million subscribers from the market leader, Netflix.
