HBO Max appears to be taking a leaf out of Disney Plus’ book after its successful launch, as the upcoming service is being described as family friendly.
President and CEO John Stankey recently spoke at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, saying the platform is still set to be launched in May of this year.
HBO is known for having adult content such as Game of Thrones. However, they have worked to appeal to younger audiences with the new platform.
Notably, HBO Max and Sesame Workshop have signed a new deal to provide four more shows along with five new seasons of the popular Sesame Street.
Stankey said: ‘It’s going to be a content offer[ing] that will have something for everybody in the household. They’re going to look at it and say, I see myself there.
‘It doesn’t matter whether you are a child in the household, a tween in the household, a mother, a father. You’re going to see something in that offering that wants you to say, I resonate with that and that’s relevant.’
