In light of the runaway success seen with Crazy Rich Asians, HBO Max has decided to invest in an effort to emulate it with a new docuseries from Lionsgate TV, which has a working title of The Ho’s.
The show will track the Ho family, who have generated a multi-million dollar empire and live a life full of opulence and bling. It is currently set to have eight thirty minute episodes, where each one will track the multi-generational clan which is headed up by Binh Ho and his wife Hue Ho.
The pair moved to the US from Vietnam with scarce funds and worked hard. The result was a multi-million dollar bank, a real estate development company and their children Judy and Washington.
Viewers will be able to see the Ho’s luxurious lifestyle in Houston, with a focus on the tight-knit family connections and the ups and downs between generations.
Jennifer O’Connell, Executive Vice President of Original Non-fiction and Kids Programming at HBO Max, said: “Rarely do you come across a family that is so rich in so many ways – not just in wealth, but in heart, traditions and love for each other.
“There’s great pride in being a Ho and they are ready to give the world a seat at their luxurious table.”
