If you have been keeping up to date with content announcements for upcoming streaming service HBO Max, you will know that it’s set to become a hub for DC and Warner Bros titles. For example, while there will be classic shows and movies on the streamer, new content such as the live-action Green Lantern project is also in the works.
While other DC shows such as DC Superhero High and potentially Constantine were already on our radar, now there is news that a Batman family show could also be heading to the streamer. You would expect to see characters such as Batgirl, Robin, Red Hood and Nightwing.
The rumours go on to say that the show would be episodic and feature the core group taking on various criminals. There may perhaps be a different enemy in each episode, making the series a lighter one to dip into compared to those currently in the works for DC Universe and Arrowverse.
It has been traditional to see Bat-family series in the comic books, although there has been a Nightwing and Robin in Titans. The 1960s Batman series saw a Batgirl character, and there is also a Batgirl DCEU movie being considered.
