Although HBO Max isn’t out yet, we’re all feeling in the Christmas spirit, so the streaming service has decided to unveil its upcoming title 12 Dates of Christmas. The unscripted dating series chronicles the journey of 12 hopefuls looking for love in a wintry backdrop.
The show promises to treat fans to a real-life romantic comedy. It begins in a beautiful Christmas castle, where the potential couples will be able to make the most of traditions such as sleigh rides and ice skating. However, it won’t all be this idyllic, as there will be some unexpected twists on the path to finding love. The end goal is for the singles to choose a partner to take home for the holidays.
Jennifer O’Connell, EVP Original Non-fiction and Kids Programming, said: ‘The holidays can be a magical time for budding relationships, and where better to find your perfect match than in this real-life fairytale castle in the snow?
‘Viewers can grab some hot cocoa, watch the romance unfold and be charmed right along with these hopeless romantics as they search for a Christmas miracle: true love.’
Objective Media Group EVP Jilly Pearce said: ‘12 Dates of Christmas is inspired by our love of Christmas rom-coms past and present. It’s a romantic, fun and feel-good dating show with a difference and has the perfect home with HBO Max.’
HBO Max launches in May 2020, and it’s reasonable to assume that 12 Dates of Christmas will resurface around this time next year.
