A CBS reporter called Paula Reid has taken on President Trump in a fiery debate which saw him call her ‘disgraceful’.
Reid questioned Trump about the administration’s decisions during the first stages of the coronavirus pandemic.
She asked him about his statement that the federal government ‘bought time’ in restricting travel from China, which he has described as a life-saving measure.
When the administration declared coronavirus a public health emergency, travel restrictions to China began from February 2.
However, Reid challenged this, saying: ‘The argument is that you bought yourself some time (with the travel restrictions).
‘You didn’t use it to prepare hospitals. You didn’t use it to ramp up testing. Right now, nearly 20 million people are unemployed. Tens of thousands of Americans are dead. How is this rant supposed to make people feel confident in an unprecedented crisis?’
Trump responded by saying ‘You’re so disgraceful. It’s so disgraceful the way you say that.’ He went on to say ‘You know you’re a fake, your whole network, the way you cover it is fake.’
