Good news for Animal Kingdom fans – season 4 begins streaming on Amazon Prime Video today (July 29th).

Originally aired on TNT, the hit show follows a crime family headed by matriarch Janine ‘Smurf’ Cody (Ellen Barkin) after her grandson J (Finn Cole) moves to live with the family after his mother’s death.

Season 4 sees the introduction of a new criminal group, as well as Angela (Emily Deschanel), a recovering addict – and J’s mother’s best friend. We’ll also see flashbacks to Smurf’s past, revealing how she became the woman she is today.

Expect this season to be as intense and drama filled as the show’s previous offerings – with executive producer John Wells teasing ‘it’s the animal kingdom. People are going to die’.
