It has been revealed that a new scripted comedy series from Jamie Foxx could be heading to Netflix very soon. According to ProductionWeekly, a new production schedule reveals that its first episodes are in development for the streaming platform.
As ‘active development’ means it is being written, while ‘development’ means it’s in early stages, we must presume the latter is the case for the Foxx series.
If the series comes to fruition, it would come from Foxx-King Entertainment – a production company headed up by Jamie Foxx, Jaime Rucker King and Marcus King.
Back in 2013, the same series was announced for TBS, but it never materialised on the platform. Marsh McCall had been on board as a writer, but he passed away in 2017.
The description for the series remains the same: ‘Every teenager is embarrassed by his/her parents. But what if your dad decided to descend upon your life in every way?
‘Inspired by Jamie Foxx’s relationship with his daughter, this comedy explores the dynamic between a parent and a child and all the embarrassment that comes with it.’
