The former First Daughter is taking after her parents and stepping into the world of production and streaming.
While she is still at Harvard University, Malia Obama is racking up some top level experience, and her most recent project is work on an Amazon Prime Video series with Donald Glover overseeing its progress.
Aged just 22, Obama is now part of the writing team for the series – which is in development after Glover managed to land an eight-figure deal with the streaming platform.
The show is called Hive, and focuses on a singer who resembles Beyonce. This won’t be Malia’s first endeavour in streaming, as she was an intern on Lena Dunham’s Girls on HBO, as well as Halle Berry’s Extant.
Dunham has described Obama as ‘totally enthusiastic’, saying ‘She loved the show. We weren’t making her go get our coffee, but she wanted to do all the jobs, that was the cool thing.’
Former President Barack Obama recently shared a snap of the whole family on Instagram for Valentines Day, saying ‘Happy Valentine’s Day to the three who never fail to make me smile. Your dazzling light makes everything brighter.’
