Last week’s Stargirl episode saw a big reveal and a tragic death. Just when it seems this season couldn’t possibly get any more exciting, episode 11 took things to the next level once again.
In ‘Shining Knight’, Courtney (Brec Bassinger) discovers that her father isn’t Starman after all when her real dad, Sam Kurtis (Geoff Stults), arrives intent on spending time with her. It turns out that Sam has an ulterior motive, though – he wants to sell Courtney’s very valuable locket. Rocked by the revelation that she isn’t Starman’s daughter, Courtney loses faith in herself – meaning the Cosmic Staff stops working. Eventually, Pat (Luke Wilson) and Barbara (Amy Smart) help her to regain her self-confidence, and so the Staff reclaims its power in a huge surge.
Meanwhile, Justin (Mark Ashworth) loses his memory of being the Shining Knight, but Pat manages to help him recover it.
Icicle (Neil Jackson) and Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) continue to work together – after Brainwave reveals Stargirl’s identity to Icicle, the two ultimately agree that Courtney and her entire family must die. As if that wasn’t explosive enough, it’s then revealed that the duo are launching Project New America in just 12 hours…and now it’s going to brainwash half the country!
