New statistics have recently been released by Sensor Tower, which have revealed the most downloaded live TV streaming service in September 2019, and the results may be surprising to some people.
According to the tracking tools used, the most popular service downloaded on iOS devices was YouTube, followed by fuboTV and Sling TV in second place. The top slot had 400k downloads, while the second one had 200k downloads.
Meanwhile, Android devices showed a similar pattern. YouTube came out on top again, with 300K downloads, while fuboTV was in second place with 200K downloads and Sling TV was third with 100K downloads. Other services in the mix were Philo, AT&T TV and PlayStation Vue. The survey could not track Hulu download figures.
Such results would indicate that smaller live TV streaming services, such as fuboTV and Sling TV, are thriving in the subscriber sphere, which makes them good companies to watch for the future. Clearly the market is a little different with live TV streaming compared to SVOD, as with the latter market, the bigger companies are fighting it out for the top slot.
