Today (September 21st) a new short documentary film arrives to Netflix.
A Love Song For Latasha focuses on Latasha Harlins. Latasha was just 15 when she was shot and killed by a store owner who falsely accused her of shoplifting orange juice.
Latasha’s death, along with the brutal beating of Rodney King three days earlier, was a huge contributor to the 1992 Los Angeles protests.
The documentary, directed by Sophia Nahli Allison, looks at Latasha’s life rather than her death through interviews with some of those who knew Latasha best.
A beautiful, powerful documentary that honors a life stolen, A Love Song For Latasha is available for streaming now with Netflix’s 30 day free trial.
You can also check out a 30 day free trial from Amazon Prime Video for more streaming choices.
