Netflix viewers will most likely recognise Millie Bobby Brown from the hit TV series Stranger Things, where she has played Eleven for three seasons, but now the platform and the actress are joining forces for an entirely new kind of project.
The streaming provider revealed in a media release that they were developing a movie called A Time Lost, which was based on an original story by Millie Bobby Brown and her sister Paige Brown. The Stranger Things star will also be acting as a producer on the film through PCMA Productions, while Paige Brown and Robert Brown will be executive producers. The movie has been described by Netflix as chronicling how a long-standing feud between two Long Island families reaches its climax when one of the teenage daughters is diagnosed with cancer.
Millie Bobby Brown and Paige Brown said: ‘We are so grateful to Netflix for their confidence in us and this beautiful story, which we have spent years writing and developing. It’s about friendship, family and overcoming obstacles when it feels like the world is pushing you down. It’s been a labor of love, literally.’
Lisa Nishimura, VP Independent Film and Documentary Features at Netflix, said: ‘Millie is an extraordinary creative talent. We’ve been lucky to have her in our family from the beginning of her career. It is a genuine thrill to witness Millie bring her distinct vision to the screen, now as a writer and producer, alongside her sister on this wonderful film.’
Millie Bobby Brown is no stranger to the big screen after her time on Stranger Things since the show first began in 2016. Her role landed her a PrimeTime Emmy nomination and opened many doors for her. Furthermore, she has starred in 2019’s Godzilla: King of Monsters, and is rumoured to be appearing in Enola Holmes and Godzilla vs Kong.
