There isn’t long to go until those who signed up for HBO Max via Prime Video Channels will be having their subscriptions cancelled. This may be causing some alarm, particularly for those who are unsure how to sign up elsewhere, so we’ve got the lowdown.
In the last few days or weeks, subscribers will likely have received an email informing them that their subscription is set to be cancelled on September 15. This is due to HBO Max leaving Prime Video last month.
However, this is leaving some 5 million HBO subscribers in the lurch, according to figures released by Amazon last year. This is because many people have enjoyed the convenience of integrating HBO Max content with their other subscriptions on the Prime home screen.
Now subscribers will need to sign up for a plan individually on the HBO Max website. After navigating to the page, they can choose one of two plans – With Ads, priced at $9.99 a month, or Ad-Free, for $14.99 a month.
There is also the option to sign up for monthly or yearly billing. Those who subscribe for an annual plan will benefit from a 16% reduction on costs. After this point, all that remains is entering your basic information and payment details and you’re good to go.
