The Alienist makes its return on TNT with a 2 hour season premiere on Sunday, July 19. Airing at 9/8c, fans can watch Angel of Darkness and get ready for the new instalments – set to air each Sunday.
For those wanting a recap ahead of the new season premiere, a popular question is who the serial killer was at the end of the last batch of episodes. In episode 9, titled Requiem, it seemed that the killer was a former soldier called John Beecham.
Born Japheth Dury, the killer’s character was known for carrying out various crimes against labor activists located in Chicago as well as Native Americans out West. The Alienist is based on the popular book by Caleb Carr, and the author also published The Angel of Darkness – what the new season is presumably based on.
While the case in the story is fictional, as are the three main characters, real historical figures are included. For example, Theodore Roosevelt is featured in the previous season, and he was 26th President of the United States.
