Disney Plus has ordered a series based on the classic Tom Hanks movie Turner & Hooch, according to reports from Variety.
December saw initial reports that such a show was in development, and now we know that Josh Peck will play a starring role.
Peck is cast as Scott Turner, who has been profiled as an ambitious US Marshall who comes to own an undisciplined dog.
The story progresses with Turner realising the originally unwanted pet may just be the friend he needed all along.
Disney has ordered 12 episodes for the new TV series, with Matt Nix writing and executive producing while Josh Levy co-executive produces.
The original Turner & Hooch movie came out in 1989 and starred Tom Hanks, along with Mare Winningham, Craig T. Nelson and Reginald VelJohnson.
It was a success, grossing over $70 million at the box office following a reported $13 million budget.
Meanwhile, Peck is known for his time on Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh, with more recent roles including a lead in Fox comedy Grandfathered and parts in Take the 10 and Danny Collins.
