Disney Plus fans have been left confused and bemused by a CGI effect on the classic title Splash, which was uploaded to the platform in February.
The film stars Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah. Hanks is a man who falls in love with a mermaid called Madison (Hannah), who can turn into a human.
The uncensored version of the movie sees some nude scenes, which led to it being given a PG rating. This is because the nudity is non-sexual in nature and doesn’t include genitalia.
However, as Disney Plus has a strong focus on being family friendly, the scenes where Madison walks up to the Statue of Liberty naked in one and flashes her behind in another have been edited.
The first scene was changed to a blur, while Hannah’s hair was edited to make it longer in the latter. The notice in the film says ‘This film has been modified from its original version. It has been edited for content.’
