Following on from her directorial debut with Booksmart – and the upcoming Don’t Worry, Darling – Olivia Wilde is reportedly set to direct a new, female-focused untitled Marvel movie for Sony.
While details on the project are currently scarce, we do know that the script will be penned by fellow Booksmart alum Katie Silberman.
Rumours are swirling that the movie will focus on Spider-Woman, and Wilde herself appeared to lend some credence to the speculation by retweeting an article about the new project with a spider emoji.
Whether the film will focus on Spider-Woman or not remains to be seen – though if it does, there are a range of characters who could be taking center stage. The moniker has been held by Jessica Drew, Gwen Stacy and Mary-Jane Watson throughout the years.
For now, Sony’s Spider-Man movies are available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video – including Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Amazon Prime Video also offers a 30 day free trial, which you can use to watch thousands of hours of hit content – from original superhero TV series The Boys to popular movies like Knives Out.
