Good news for South Park fans – there may be a new South Park movie (and more) on the way.
Grant Gish, senior vice president of adult animation for Viacom CBS’s Entertainment and Youth Group, has signalled his interest in working with South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker for new South Park movies and specials.
On his plans, Gish said: ‘As long as you’re doing something new, and that could be anything from a new style to a new tone to a new voice coming from a specific writer, I think it can work. An animation audience is looking for something unique. That’s what The Simpsons and South Park have famously done. So I want to try a little bit of everything, even though a lot of it will be targeted to the tried and true with brands people know’.
At the moment, South Park airs on Comedy Central and streams on HBO Max after they struck a deal with Viacom – however, ViacomCBS could potentially stream the series on CBS All Access once HBO Max and Viacom’s current deal expires.
For now, you can stream South Park on HBO Max with a 7 day free trial. Why not also try an Amazon Prime Video 30 day free trial? They’ve been working hard to build their library, and have thousands of hours of hit TV shows like original series The Boys and popular movies like Knives Out.
