Fans of Disney in the UK and across Europe have been without new streaming service Disney Plus, which is set to launch on March 24.
Now the service will be providing 600 episodes of popular series The Simpsons on its platform for viewers in this region.
The news was confirmed in a tweet on Wednesday, which has provided relief for prospective consumers as it wasn’t certain whether the series would be available.
This is because, while Disney owns the rights to stream The Simpsons in the US as Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, Sky owned Fox content before it was sold to Comcast in 2018 by Disney and Fox.
However, Sky has made a deal with Disney whereby Disney+ will be brought to Sky Q set-top boxes in the UK and Ireland.
Further seasons of The Simpsons will be available on both Sky and Disney+, along with the bulk of the back catalogue.
