The Marvel series based on Loki is kicking off in terms of production, with Tom Hiddleston revealing his training – along with some embarrassing moments – in videos on Instagram.
Now there is a new member of the cast, as Gugu Mbatha-Raw has crossed over from The Morning Show on Apple TV+ to star in the Disney Plus show.
According to Deadline, the actress will play Thor’s brother, a demi-god. There aren’t too many further details, but rumours state that she will be a female lead.
Marvel had no comment to make about the casting, but we do know that she joins not only Tom Hiddleston but fellow cast members Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino.
Marvel Studios are planning a treat for fans of the franchise as they will be able to check in with the Asgard-based god who is commonly seen as the favourite villain in the MCU setting.
The stories in the series will be set after the events which took place in Avengers: Endgame.
Currently, the series is aiming for a debut in spring 2021, with filming taking place in Atlanta. Writer Michael Waldron and director Kate Herron also participate in executive producer roles.
