Google has released its data for Year in Search, which allows people interested in what others are looking up to find out what some of the top hits over the last 12 months have been.
After looking at some of the biggest trends, Google concluded that the top search in the US for 2019 was for new streaming service Disney Plus. Other streaming related terms which landed in the top 10 were Avengers: Endgame and Game of Thrones.
To be precise, Game of Thrones was the top show trend in the US for 2019, with Netflix’s Stranger Things and When They See Us following. Then there was Chernobyl from HBO and The Mandalorian from Disney Plus.
The Mandalorian cropping up in the top trends for the year is particularly impressive when considering that Disney Plus only launched in November 2019.
Google also looked at some of the top trends over the past decade. Movie trends included Toy Story, Iron Man and The Walking Dead.
