Now that new streaming platform discovery+ is available for those residing in the US, there are questions about how to watch its content on various devices.
One of those areas is smart TVs, with many people wanting to stream on their LG, Samsung and Vizio brand screens.
Here’s the lowdown on whether discovery+ supports each of these devices.
LG TV
LG TV is not currently supported with discovery+. However, one way to get around this is by using Chromecast. In fact, this is what the support center on discovery+ recommends you do.
Samsung TV
Although the device is not listed on the compatible devices on the support center at the time of writing, reports online indicate that discovery+ plans to add Samsung smart TV imminently.
Vizio TV
Currently discovery+ will only work on Vizio SmartCast TVs which are 2016 models and above – but you will need to use Chromecast and AirPlay.

That is not right Vizio needs to add the discovery+ app because they had ads for it running on my 2020 TV. Why have an ad to pump people’s excitement up and not offer it? I got it on my Nvidia Shield so no need to use my phone and chrome cast. I do find it misleading to have an ad on top of the Smartcast screen which has since been removed.

now that it is January 2021 has there been any changes for LG Smart tv users?
