The TV series Frayed hits HBO Max today.
The story, set in 1989, sees widow Sammy Cooper (creator Sarah Kendall) coping in the aftermath of her husband’s death. When it’s revealed that her husband’s wealth was built on lies and fraud, Sammy must leave London to return home to Newcastle, Australia with her two children and build a new life – but not before she reckons with her old one, and the lies she’s told about her own past.
The series has previously aired in the UK and Australia and was met with positive reviews – with critics praising its sense of humor and elements of serious drama. In the US, the series is already being well received.
Along with Kendall, the series stars Kerry Armstrong and Trystan Go – and features British comedy star Robert Webb. You can watch the trailer for Frayed on YouTube now.
