With the coronavirus pandemic causing widespread disruption across the entertainment industry, many movies and media events have been postponed or moved to streaming sites. San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), usually one of the biggest entertainment events of the year, joins their ranks – in 2020, it will be entirely virtual with Comic-Con@Home.
Amazon Prime Video will be in digital attendance, hosting four Comic-Con@Home panels. The panels will all take place on July 23rd, and will focus on Prime Video originals Truth Seekers (3pm ET), Utopia (4pm ET), Upload (5pm ET) and The Boys (6pm ET). Expect to see the cast, crew and creators of the shows as well as the typical Q&As and news announcements.
There will also be exclusive virtual experiences available, with Prime Video promising ‘a mix of live content, scheduled events and evergreen experiences’. Some of the virtual events on offer are ComiXology’s Comic-Con@Home Panel, Summer Game Fest with streaming site Twitch, the Hanna Unlocked adventure game based on Prime Video original TV show Hanna, and the Audible Sandman Experience.
To watch, check out the Virtual-Con portal on Prime Video. You’ll be able to watch Comic-Con@Home coverage from July 23rd – 26th. The panels will also be streamed on SDCC’s YouTube channel.
