Hulu has revealed the first trailer for its upcoming series Normal People. The show is an adaptation of Irish author Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel of the same name.
The story focuses on a young couple who go through various stages in their relationship and experience changing roles as they move from high school to further education.
The two are polar opposites, as Connell is popular while Marianne is lonely and intimidating. However, when they meet, their connection grows, and they work to keep it under wraps.
Later, their roles change as Marianne becomes more confident in a different environment while Connell is on the sidelines. However, they continue to fade in and out of each other’s lives to varying degrees.
Hulu said of the series: ‘Honest, smart and intoxicating, ‘Normal People’…explores just how complicated intimacy and young love can be.’
