There are few people who haven’t heard of Greta Thunberg in 2019, and Hulu has recognised her global appeal. As a result, they are looking into her story and producing a documentary on the 16 year old Swedish climate activist, which will make its debut on the streaming platform in 2020.
Greta is known for her work on climate change as she has been the voice of a generation, challenging companies and governments to act on initiatives. She has been nominated for a Nobel prize and was named Time’s Person of the Year for 2019.
Thunberg has received messages of support from notable figures such as Michelle Obama, with Hollywood celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Arnold Schwarzenegger embracing her mission.
The documentary will chronicle Greta’s journey, from her school strike in Stockholm to meetings with global leaders around the world. The content is being produced by Cecelia Nessen and Frederik Heinig with B-Reel Films. It’s directed by Nathan Grossman.
Other original titles from Hulu include Hilary, Minding The Gap and Ask Dr Ruth. With the streaming wars heating up from competition such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, Hulu has made a strong move by adding this documentary to its collection.
