With The Mandalorian proving a smash hit success on Disney Plus, news has hit the web that another live action Star Wars show might be on its way. Lando Calrissian – original owner of the Millenium Falcon, friend of Han Solo and eventual Resistance hero – could be returning to our screens.
Billy Dee Williams’s Lando made his triumphant return last year in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but Donald Glover’s version of the smooth talking galactic gambler hasn’t been seen since Solo: A Star Wars Story released in 2018. The spinoff movie had low box office results, but was generally favorably reviewed and well received by fans.
The Kessel Run Radio podcast team broke the news, though at the moment Disney haven’t commented to confirm or deny the report. While not an official Disney podcast, Kessel Run Radio accurately reported that Star Wars: The Bad Batch was in development before Disney broke the news themselves.
The rumour comes as good news for fans involved in the #MakeSolo2Happen online movement. While not a movie sequel (and right now there aren’t any plot details available), a Lando Calrissian series will most likely expand on the world of Solo.
A Lando series would join the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series, as well as the entire Star Wars saga, on Disney Plus. You can stream Star Wars with a Disney Plus account, which also gives you access to thousands of hours of classic Disney movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and more.
