Rumours were recently circulating that Marvel’s Hawkeye for Disney Plus was to be delayed indefinitely, as the show had been removed from Marvel Studios’ production schedule for 2020.
Initially, a blog on Murphy’s Multiverse stated that the July production start had been taken down from the schedule, with the reasoning being that it would ‘allow for some plot points of the larger, ongoing narrative of the MCU to be introduced ahead of the series.’
However, Knight Edge Media and The Verge have heard a different version of events from Disney. Taking to Twitter, Caleb Williams from Knight Edge revealed that Disney had told her the delays report was ‘completely inaccurate’.
The original plan for Hawkeye details a launch in fall 2021, with Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld starring.
Disney Plus has been active in select regions since November 2019, with plans for roll-outs in further locations over the course of 2020. As well as Marvel content, the streamer features titles from Pixar, National Geographic and Lucasfilm.
