HBO titles are available to stream via HBO NOW.
HBO Max have announced a new TV show, which will be part of the DC Universe. Tying into upcoming blockbuster The Batman, the show is set to focus on the Gotham City Police Department.
The title will be written by Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter, with The Batman director Matt Reeves and producer Dylan Clark executive producing.
Reeves commented: ‘This is an amazing opportunity, not only to expand the vision of the world I am creating in the film, but to explore it in the kind of depth and detail that only a longform format can afford — and getting to work with the incredibly talented Terence Winter, who has written so insightfully and powerfully about worlds of crime and corruption, is an absolute dream.”
While not much else is known about the project yet, the show offers an opportunity to dive further into the complex world of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and launch a new Batman focused universe.
HBO Max’s chief content officer, Kevin Reilly, said: ‘Our collaboration with Warner Bros and DC allows us to elaborate and grow fan connections across these powerful brands for years to come. This is Batman as most audiences have never seen before, and we know fans will want to spend more time in this new world inspired by the film.’
The show will join the ranks of HBO Max’s superhero content – not just the movies that form the DCEU, but also J.J Abram’s announced Justice League Dark TV project as well as Doom Patrol and Batwoman, which both stream on HBO Max alongside their spots on DC Universe and the CW respectively.
You can stream HBO Max for $14.99 a month. Alternatively, top HBO titles can be streamed via HBO Now.
