It has been reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are discussing a potential interview with major US TV networks following their partial departure from royal life. It’s also understood that PR representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have spoken with Oprah Winfrey.
Although sources later denied the suggestion, there will still be rumours circulating about an interview, with some hoping for a slot with Oprah on Apple TV+. It’s known that the Duke and Duchess are close with Oprah, who has been working with Apple TV+ on Oprah’s Book Club.
There is already an Apple TV+ series in the works between Harry, Meghan and Oprah about mental health, making it more conceivable that the royal couple would go with this host and streaming service for an interview.
Harry and Meghan recently released a statement indicating that they wanted to step back from full time royal life, choosing instead to split their time between the UK and North America. The statement prompted crisis talks between the Queen and other senior royals, who were previously unaware of the decision.
While talks are underway, Meghan has flown back to Canada to be with her son Archie, who was staying with a nanny. The couple will need to raise considerable funds for their personal and public needs, including their charitable foundation.
