After Stargirl episode 9 ended on a cliffhanger, episode 10 more than delivered with huge revelations and explosive action.
DC TV show Stargirl follows high school student Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) who becomes superhero Stargirl with the help of her Cosmic Staff and stepdad Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson), the original Starman’s former sidekick. Courtney and a group of new heroes form the Justice Society of America (JSA), who clash with the villainous Injustice Society of America (ISA).
There’s still three more episodes left in season 1 of Stargirl, and ‘Brainwave’ has left us desperate for more. Following Courtney’s mother Barbara (Amy Smart) walking in on Courtney and Pat with the Cosmic Staff in episode 9, we’re treated to seeing how Barbara and Pat met. Unfortunately, Barbara is furious at the surprise that her daughter is Stargirl, and won’t listen to Pat or Courtney – she even kicks Pat out of the house.
Meanwhile, Brainwave (Christopher James Baker) is awake in hospital, but has no memory of the last ten years. He and his son Henry (Jake Austin Walker) talk and discuss the murder of Henry’s mother by Icicle (Neil Jackson).
Barbara then overhears a conversation between Icicle and his parents about the machine being built by the ISA, which sends the JSA on a hunt underground. They find Dragon King’s (Nelson Lee) lab, with Brainwave inside – and a fight follows.
It turns out Brainwave has his memories back – Henry tries to convince him to leave Icicle, until Brainwave says that it wasn’t Icicle who killed Henry’s mother…but Brainwave himself! Brainwave then pulls the ceiling in on Henry, apparently killing him.
