Thor: Love and Thunder, the upcoming fourth instalment in the Thor series, was set for release November 2021. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic meant work on the film had to come to a halt, and the release was pushed back to February 11th 2022. But star Natalie Portman has found a way to make use of the delay.
Portman is reprising her role as Jane Foster in Love and Thunder, but with a difference – this time, Jane will hold the mantle – and potentially hammer – of Mighty Thor. In a discussion with Serena Williams, Portman joked that the delay gave her ‘more time to get jacked’. She then went on to say that she is ‘very excited’ and that the movie will start ‘shooting in Australia at the beginning of next year’.
Director Taika Waititi has also been making the most of the postponement. Earlier this year, he commented: ‘We’re still writing Love And Thunder, and I think it’s good to just keep writing, and then you know, we’ll have a really, really good script…Film is an industry where you’re always complaining about not having enough time. I think, right now, we’ve given ourselves a huge amount of time to work on all sorts of things, so we may as well use it’.
Love and Thunder will star Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson along with Portman. While you wait for 2022, you can stream the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) with a Disney Plus subscription.
