Following the July 24th release of The Kissing Booth 2 on Netflix, the streaming service has revealed that there will be a third movie – and filming is even complete. The news was announced at Netflix’s #TKBFanFest yesterday (July 26th). Spoilers for the second film below!
The Kissing Booth 3 was shot secretly alongside The Kissing Booth 2, and will premiere in 2021. While filming is complete, the movie is currently in the post-production stage, so there’s still some work left to do. Hopefully, this means the film will remain unaffected by disruption caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Kissing Booth series follows Elle (Joey King) as she falls in love with her best friend’s (Joel Courtney) older brother (Jacob Elordi). The Kissing Booth 2 ended with Elle (Joey King) trying to decide where to go to college. After much of the sequel focused on the difficulties of juggling a long distance relationship with every day life, it’s likely Elle’s college choice will play a big role in The Kissing Booth 3’s story. Netflix’s plot teaser states ‘[Elle] has a secret: She got into both Harvard, where her dreamy boyfriend Noah goes, and Berkeley, where her BFF Lee is going. Which path will Elle choose?’
The main cast will return for The Kissing Booth 3, including King, Elordi, Courtney, Meganne Young, Taylor Zakhar Perez and Molly Ringwald. A short sneak peak has been released, which you can watch on YouTube.
