Although the coronavirus pandemic has put the filming of many TV shows on hold, there is good news on the horizon as Sam Heughan recently revealed on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan that production for season 6 of Outlander is ‘definitely gearing up’.
As Heughan has spoken about how ‘We’re going to have to look at a new way of working around [COVID-19], but we’re getting there’, here’s the latest on season 6.
When will season 6 of Outlander come out on Starz?
There is no official release date yet, but as filming has not yet begun, it’s likely that new episodes will not be coming to our screens until 2021 or beyond.
Will there be another season of Outlander?
As far as news of an Outlander season 7 goes, nothing has been confirmed yet but if the sixth instalment goes well we see no reason why Starz would not issue a renewal.
Season 6 spoilers and fan theories
We know there will be some difficulties surrounding the sex scenes in Outlander this time around – Heughan revealed on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan that ‘I guess Ive got to now stay two meters apart from my co-stars…That could provide some really interesting love scenes.’
As for the next seasons, the last season 5 episode saw Jamie and Claire happy together – but it’s likely they have a turbulent time ahead as the Revolution is on the horizon.
