With so many movies delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s a relief to see a new movie will definitely be releasing this week. Writer/director David Ayer’s The Tax Collector will premiere this Friday (August 7th) on streaming services and in select theaters, and we’ve got all the details you need to watch it here.
The film features two ‘tax collectors’ (Bobby Soto and Shia LaBeouf) who work for a crime lord – they’re both responsible for ensuring the crime lord gets his portion of the profits from other gangs in the area. But one of the collectors, David (Soto), is plunged into danger when the emergence of his boss’s old rival threatens David’s family.
Along with Soto and LaBeouf, the film also stars Cinthya Carmona, George Lopez, Jose Conejo Martin and more. We can expect a gritty crime thriller in the same vein as Training Day, which Ayer penned the screenplay for.
The Tax Collector will be available to stream on platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+ and Google Play this Friday.
While you wait, why not try an Amazon Prime Video 30 day free trial now? You’ll be able to watch thousands of hours of hit content, including original TV show The Boys and popular movies like Knives Out – all totally free.
