Disney XD, which is owned by Walt Disney Television, is part of a multinational network which came into existence in the United States. The channel has a target audience of children aged between 6 and 15. It is available in over 77.5 million homes across the United States and broadcasts various series from its sister network Disney Channel. Among the most popular series are Beyblade Burst and Pokemon Sun & Moon.

One exciting feature which comes with Disney XD is audio support in Spanish. This can be accessed either via a separate channel which has the English track removed, or merely a different audio track that can be accessed via the SAP option, depending on the provider.

This branch of Disney programming came into existence from 2010, competing with other channels that target pre-school children such as Sprout and Qubo. The former Playhouse Disney block was renamed under the Disney Junior brand before its launch. As of 2016, more than 77 million US households have access to the channel.

The Disney XD channel offers an interesting mix of original series and animated programs, with some of them even being broadcast live. In addition, short series which originally aired on Disney Channel during commercials, such as Two More Eggs, are shown. While they are typically fairly short, not usually lasting more than 3 minutes, they fill breaks in between shows with fun moments.

New original episodes are often broadcast at 7am ET, and the channel also shows original movies from Disney Channel. There are also feature films scheduled from time to time, but these are not aired during primetime slots, as opposed to Disney Channel. Movies can usually be watched at 6pm ET.

Disney XD created a special night program called Disney Junior Night Light, which is sponsored by Babble and began in 2012. The night program runs daily between 21:00 and 04:00 ET, targeting the relationship between parents and their children. For instance, some of these offerings include Picture This, a short series that shows how Disney characters are drawn, or Sesh Tales, where finger puppets in costumes perform a twist on a fairy tale. Lastly, That’s Fresh teaches parents cooking tips and is hosted by Helen Cavallo.

Before 2017, this channel had overnight programming that included a series in which parents are followed each day until their baby is born. Another show was also for stay-at-home dads, but both of these titles have since been discontinued. Disney Junior Night Light does not run anymore either, and the overnight programming is not branded.
